Kim Clijsters won the 2009 US Open Women’s Singles. Kim is the first Wildcard to win the US Open.

Clijsters is a Belgian tennis player and a former World no 1 ranked player in singles and doubles. She won 34 WTA singles titles and 11 WTA doubles. She won the US Open singles back in 2005 and then in May 6, 2007 she announced her retirement. Now a mom, she comes back to the world of tennis to win one of the most prestigious titles in womens tennis again, the US Open Womens Singles 2009.

Kim Clijsters won the 2009 US Open Singles Finals in tennis with a score of 7-5, and 6-3 over Caroline Wozniacki of Denmark.

She was able to beat the Williams sister and finally, Caroline Wozniacki in a superb match at the Arthur Ashe Stadium.
