Today we experienced the solar eclipse in selected parts of the world. It has brought darkness to some parts in Asia. This has been so far the longest total solar eclipse of the 21st century.

After forming over the sea west of India, the “umbra” made a landfall in Gujarat state in India shortly before 6:30 am and quickly swallowed the city of Surat. Other Asian countries also got the chance to see the lunar shadow.

In the Philippines, selected parts of Luzon experienced the said phenomenon. This eclipse will happen again in 2132.
