The final date of the Manny Pacquiao-Floyd Mayweather super fight next year is already set to happen on March 13, 2010. The venue however is still under study. The tickets to this title fight , however, have caught everyone’s attention since many considered the premium seats as the most expensive compared to any previous boxing events.
Hall of Fame promoter Bob Arum shared that a premium seat amounts to a whooping $2,500 ( PHP 117,500 ), if it will be held at the 17,000-seat MGM Grand. The inexpensive seat is priced at $500.
This premium ticket price would still be the same if the event will be held at the 80,000-capacity Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The cheapest ticket, however, will be sold lower than $500.
This $2,500 price for the premium ticket will definitely be the most expensive ticket to a boxing event. It even topped over the $2,400 tickets during the June 2002Lewis-Tyson heavyweight match at the Pyramid Arena in Memphis. And definitely much higher than the $2,000 ticket seat during the De La Hoya-Mayweather title fight last May 2007.
The venue would be finalized by the end of this week. Arum also shared that billionaire Jerry Jones, who owns the Dallas Cowboys of the NFL, is giving a juicy offer that could rival even Las Vegas’ proposal.
Pacquiao and Mayweather will be $25 million each richer after the fight. This dollar earnings could even balloon to as high as $40 million each on the pay-per-view.
